Discover the Power of Keywords

When looking into keyword use it is important to understand the nature of research.

Pay close attention to what you are about to read in this post, even if you feel that you know all there is to know about keywords, cause there might be little tidbits of information that you may never heard of before.

Keywords are phrases people type into search engines. Keywords are what makes the internet useful and easy to find information on any topic you can think of. Every time you type something in to the search box when you search on google.com or msn.com or even yahoo.com you are using keywords. These words help you look for what you need.

Pay close attention to articles people write like on EzineArticles.com They tend to use a certain keyword over and over again. Search engines pick up on this article and show their article when someone types in that keyword.

The power of keywords is not the only thing that will generate customers for you.

Keywords are the root in everything you do. Look at a search engine up at the top towards the right you will see some ads that people pay for on that particular keyword or phrase. You will get massive amounts of customers from proper keyword placements. Without having to spend money for ads like you see there on the search engine.

There are 2 types of keywords.

  • short-tail keywords: keywords that are broad like “baseball”
  • long-tail keywords: keywords that are very specific and have multiple words like “youth size baseball bats”
  • Many people forget to put together long-tail lists and they are missing out on so much traffic. Long-tail keywords will drive more highly targeted customers than short-tail keywords ever will. Which makes long-tail keywords a golden nugget.

You can generate a lot of customers with short-tail keywords but you will lose money in the end because they are nowhere near as targeted as long-tail keywords are.

So be sure to use a combination of short-tail and long-tail keywords focusing on the long-tail keywords. And you will not only drive potential customers to your site but you will drive highly targeted customers that will buy from your site.
